This page discusses the Meebook brand of E-Ink tablets (e-readers that provide note-taking functionality by writing on the screen with a stylus).
Overview
Full list...
+ Products tend to be less expensive than other brands
- Poor customer service
- Little online presence
- User interface feels unpolished
- Looks and feels 'generic'
- Irregular firmware updates
Meebook e-ink tablets tend to be budget-friendly, and can mange the basics, but lack any sophistication. Their online presence is almost non-existent, and customer support is lacking.
Meebook are a Chinese E-Ink tablet manufacturer, but not a lot is known about them and they have very little online presence.
Their website is listed as www.haoqingtech.com/ (taken from a Meebook tablet itself), however there is very little information provided (and it is very slow).
Ecosystem
Meebook do not appear to have much in the way of their own ecosystem or cloud storage capabilities – notebooks have to be exported manually to a third-party cloud drive.
Customer Service
My experience with customer service has not been great.
Without an official website, it was difficult to find out how to get into contact with them (for those wondering, you can use the Feedback utility on the tablet itself, email meebook at haoqingtech dot com, or join their Facebook Group).
I never got a reply from the feeback, nor my email. The Facebook group is a mix of both English speaking and Chinese-speaking customers, and unfortunately most of the questions in English appear to get ignored. Where a reply has been made, it appears that the support team are not very conversant in English – this is deduced from the regular misunderstanding of the question and the broken English used in the replies.
Because Meebook operates in both China, and the West, I can only comment on the customer support experience for English speakers – it is very bad, to the point that it is almost non-existent.

Firmware
Meebook e-ink tablets are based on the Android operating system, which means that third-party apps from the Google Play Store can be downloaded and installed.
The user interface is very unpolished, with some system messages written in Chinese, or poorly-translated English.
