+ On the cutting edge of e-ink technologies
+ Wide range of products
+ Products are very flexible and versatile

Cons

- Variable customer support

Bigme are a well-established Chinese manufacturer of e-ink devices. Although they have been around a long time, they have previously been focused on ODM (manufacturing devices for other firms). It is only in the last few years that they have begun to develop their own product range.

Bigme are very similar to Boox in that they make some of the most versatile e-ink tablets on the market, with decent hardware specs, and the Android O/S.

However, their software lacks maturity and can feel quite clunky and non-intuitive.

Because of the similarities in hardware and price, and differences in software usability, there are very few reasons (in my opinion) to choose Bigme over Boox.

Bigme* are a well-established Chinese brand that have been manufacturing e-ink devices for almost two decades. However, most of this time they have been an Original Design Manufacturer (ODM). This means that they design and manufacture e-ink readers/tablets for other brands (their client list is not publicly available, but I would hazard an educated guess that Meebook are one of them).

In recent years, they have branched out into manufacturing e-ink products under their own brand name, specialising in colour e-ink.

Although Bigme have a lot of experience with the hardware side, offering cutting-edge technology, their software is a little underdeveloped, particularly in relation to usability.

Ecosystem

Bigme operate their own proprietary cloud server with 10Gb of storage space provided for free (with the option to purchase additional storage).

Notebooks can be automatically uploaded to the cloud in PDF format and then viewed/downloaded using the Bigme smartphone/desktop app. The app also supports uploading and transferring files directly to your Bigme device.

In addition, Bigme also support third-party cloud drives (OneNote, Baidu, and Google Drive) for notebook synchronisation.

Because Bigme devices use the Android operating system, it is also possible to use third-party apps for transferring files.

Customer Service

Bigme customer service is okay, with provision via email, whatsapp and skype.

Response times are variable (although usually same-day), however, because the support team do not appear to be native English speakers, some things can be misinterpreted, so some patience is required.

They do not have an online knowledge base of common issues and tutorials, however, a User Manual can be accessed from the device.

Tablets

Bigme e-ink tablets tend to use powerful, cutting edge technology and have colour screens.

Firmware

Bigme firmware is okay. There are a lot of features but the user interface is quite disjointed, and even frustrating to use at times.
