Based in Switzerland, Pocketbook have been developing e-readers for nearly 20 years (and, more recently, e-ink tablets).

Like Kobo, Pocketbook support DRM-protected e-books bought from third-party bookstores.

Ecosystem

Much like Kobo, Pocketbook have a more open ecosystem (compared to Amazon Kindle) that supports DRM-protected e-book purchased from third-party outlets.

The Pocketbook e-reading is app is available for mobile phones and saves your reading data (highlights, annotations etc.) on the Pocketbook Cloud so that they are available across devices.
