I have not had enough first-hand experience with the Huion brand to have a fully informed opinion of it, so I've initially given them an average rating with the possibility of increasing (or decreasing) in the future.
Huion is best known as a manufacturer of graphics tablets and pen displays for digital artists, but the company has also experimented with E-Ink note-taking tablets through its Huion Ink series. While these e-paper devices represent only a small part of Huion’s product lineup, they reflect the company’s broader expertise in digital stylus technology and handwriting input.
Founded in Shenzhen, China in 2011, Huion built its reputation in the creative-hardware industry by producing affordable drawing tablets and displays aimed at artists, designers, and students. Over time, the company expanded its portfolio to include products built around digital pen interaction, ranging from professional drawing displays to digital writing devices.
Huion’s involvement in the E-Ink market is relatively limited compared with companies whose primary focus is digital paper devices. The company’s core business remains LCD pen displays and graphics tablets, while E-Ink tablets appear to function as a secondary or experimental product line.
Ecosystem
Unlike other brands, there is no wider ecosystem associated with Huion devices. You do not need a Huion account to use them – in fact there is no option to create a Huion account at all.
As such, there is no companion app an no additional backend services, including cloud storage.
There are options to connect to third-party cloud drives including Google Drive, Baidu, Dropbox, OneDrive, AliYun, JianGuoYun, and WebDAV. I only tried out Google Drive, and this didn’t work (it returned an error when I tried to connect).
Customer Service
In my test, it took less than 24hrs for a response, which is good. The reply informed me that what I wanted to do (synchronise my notebooks with my Google Drive) was not possible at this time, but would be passed onto their development team.
